20 Jul Leading Commercial Litigator Joins Rollasons Solicitors

We’re delighted to confirm that leading commercial litigator, Stuart Love who has spent much of his career working for top national law firms has joined Rollasons Solicitors as a consultant.

Stuart, a former Partner and Head of the Commercial Litigation Team at a multi-office Legal 500 practice, based primarily in Northamptonshire, brings nearly 20 years’ experience with him, acting for a wide range of clients from PLCs to owner run businesses.

Specialising in commercial litigation, Stuart advises clients on contract disputes, business ownership disputes/unfair prejudice claims, contentious insolvency, debt collection and professional negligence.

Commenting on his appointment, Stuart said:

“I have made the move to Rollasons to get back to concentrating on client work, resolving disputes and delivering great client service free from the management and supervision of leading a large team

I am currently keen to help clients with their Business Interruption Insurance (BII) claims. A lot of commercial insurance policies have BII cover (these were often drafted primarily to deal with damage to property or equipment preventing a business from trading). However, they also in many instances cover a “notifiable disease” such as Covid or when a business cannot trade due to government intervention, like the lockdown.

A great number of insurers are refusing these claims or seeking to settle them well below their true value. There was a test case brought by the FCA, which reached the Supreme Court in January that clarified the position in relation to a number of the main policies and gave guidance generally. I am keen to help businesses that have not made claims and need assistance putting them in the strongest possible terms, have made claims that have been rejected or have made claims and received a low offer of settlement, as I am sure I can help these businesses achieve their desired outcome.”
