07 Jul Our community partner DTFC launch Food Bank

Our community partner, Daventry Town Football Club (DTFC), has launched a Food Bank, following the success of the initial appeal, where over 70 food parcels were provided to the local community around the Christmas period.

The Daventry Town Food Bank’s first campaign will be to support local families over the school summer holidays, which are due to run from Tuesday 20 July until Wednesday 1 September 2021.

Daventry Town Football Club’s Chairman, Derren Midson, said:

“We’re excited to launch our new food bank! The Christmas food bank was a huge success; with the support of the community, we were able to help 70 local families. We want to do more and have a great team of volunteers ready to get started. The food parcels will be given to families ahead of the school holidays, so we’re working with local schools to make this happen. As always, we’re so grateful to our community for helping us! As always, a massive thanks to the Purple Army and the volunteers behind the scenes for their efforts and support.”

How can you get involved?

The club are open 7 days a week for donations between the hours of 10am to 7pm. If you are unable to get to Daventry Town Football Club, donations can be dropped off at our office in Daventry Town Centre, conveniently located next to Tesco’s at the following address:

9 New Street, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 4BT

What are we looking for?

We urgently need donations of the following in any quantity big or small:

• Cereal
• Soup
• Pasta & Pasta Sauces
• Tinned Food & Meat
• Tea / Coffee
• Tinned Fruit
• Biscuits

Please do not gift any perishable food as this may go to waste.
